Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

1. Introduction

Optiwing ("Optiwing", "we", "us", or "our") provides SEO keyword research, SERP analysis, keyword grouping, content planning, and related browser-extension tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use optiwing.com, app.optiwing.com, our APIs, and our browser extensions.

Optiwing is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and contact information

When you create an account, contact us, subscribe to emails, or use the Optiwing app, we may collect information such as your name, email address, country, account identifiers, billing-related details, and communications with us. Payments may be processed by third party payment providers; we do not store full payment card numbers.

2.2 SEO workflow data

We collect the keywords, URLs, uploaded files, pasted rows, locations, languages, devices, search engines, content brief inputs, and related settings that you choose to submit so we can run SERP checks, SERP comparisons, keyword grouping jobs, keyword discovery, rank tracking, and other Optiwing workflows.

2.3 Browser extension data

The Optiwing browser extension for Chrome and Firefox uses your existing Optiwing web session to request a short-lived access token. The extension stores that access token in browser session storage so it can call the Optiwing API while the extension is open. The extension may also store your preferences, selected country/language/device/search engine, and in-progress grouping job IDs in browser storage.

The extension sends Optiwing only the content you intentionally submit, such as highlighted text sent through the context menu, pasted keyword rows, and extension form settings. It does not automatically read pages, collect browsing history, inject content scripts, or send page content unless you deliberately highlight or paste that content into the extension.

The extension decodes your email address from the access token so it can show the signed in account in the extension UI. It also sends a one-time "extension_authenticated" event after successful authentication so we can understand whether the extension connection is working. This event is used for product analytics and support, not advertising.

2.4 Automatically collected information

Our websites and servers may collect IP address, device and browser information, log data, referral pages, pages viewed, approximate location, usage events, cookies, and similar analytics data. We use cookies and analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to understand site usage and improve Optiwing.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to provide and secure Optiwing, authenticate users, run requested SEO jobs, show results, manage credits and billing, provide support, prevent abuse, debug errors, improve our product, send service messages, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use extension data for unrelated purposes, creditworthiness decisions, lending decisions, or targeted advertising.

4. Sharing Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Optiwing, such as hosting, analytics, authentication, payment, email, and customer support providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets.

Service providers may use information only to provide services to Optiwing or as otherwise permitted by law.

5. Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, or modification. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Optiwing, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain business records.

6. Your Choices

You can stop using the browser extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. You can clear extension storage through your browser settings. You can also update or delete certain account information in the Optiwing app.

To request access, correction, deletion, or other help with your personal information, contact us at support@optiwing.com. Some information may remain in backups, security logs, billing records, or other records where retention is required or permitted.

7. Third Party Websites

Optiwing may link to third party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

8. Updates and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
